Zeus The Warrior Bronze
Fishermen plying their nets off the Cape of Artemision, Greece in 1926 drew up pieces of this 5th century bronze sculpture, prompting a dive that brought from the deep the original statue of Zeus (sometimes thought to be Poseidon), now a national Greek treasure. Zeus has his left arm outstretched and his right arm drawn back to throw an object now missing, probably a thunderbolt. Our scaled bronze "Father of Gods and Men" sculpture, is expertly finished with a hand-applied multidimensional multi-toned patina and is set atop a solid black marble base. The "Poseidon of Artemision" bronze sculpture is individually cast in the traditional lost wax method, which highlights the sculptural uniqueness and guarantees heirloom quality. Color patina is applied by hand one piece at a time, tone may vary slightly. 20½"Wx9"Dx25½"H. 20 lbs.
